Christian Education and Formation

"Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer". Rainer Maria Rilke
At St. Mark's we encourage people to ask plenty of questions about faith, about the church and about life. Whatever your questions and wherever you are on the journey of faith, you are welcome here. One of the best ways to wrestle with important questions is in conversation with others. At St. Mark's there are a number of regular and occasional Bible study and discussion groups and people are encouraged to begin new ones if they can't find something that is right for them. If you would like to join a regular Bible Study Group, please contact the office for days and times of these groups.

Occasional study series (Lent or Advent) will be advertised in the pew sheet, on the website or on Facebook.

Sunday Afternoon Conversations
Our Sunday Afternoon Conversations programme is part of our adult education programme. We bring people together to talk about significant issues.
We hear from a guest speaker, share afternoon tea and then gather for a final session of questions and further conversation, sometimes breaking into small groups.
Recent conversations have covered topics such as Climate Change and Christianity, Challenge and Change of Contemporary Mission and Ministry, Common Dreams on the Road, the Need for Church Schools in a Contemporary Society, Spirituality and Ageing.
We are always looking for topics and suggestions and presenters who we can invite to lead us in conversation. Do become involved in this challenging and interesting education programme.
Watch the website, weekly pew sheet or facebook for details of our converstions programme.
